The Treaty of Waitangi - with Dr Susan Healy

An experienced treaty educator and co-author of the independent report Ngapuhi Speaks.  This report has some of the most recently available information on the Declaration of Independence and the Treaty of Waitangi.

A workshop designed particularly for people working in non-profit organisations within the community.  Also suitable for individuals wanting to increase their understanding of the Treaty.

The one day workshop will cover:

  • The historical background to the signing of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • The Treaty text
  • The Treaty's history since 1840
  • The impacts of legislation and Government action
  • Implications of the Treaty relationship for community groups and organizations

Driver Education & Road Safety

Streettalk-Defensive Driving                    Fee: $175.00

This time reduction course will allow you to your full licence sooner.  Four theory sessions and 1 hour practical driving.  This course includes a certificate on completion and can be done in conjunction with Unit Standards.

Days:         Mon & Wed, 6.30 - 8.30pm, 2 weeks

Term 1:     12, 14, 19, & 21 March 2018

Term 2:     11, 13, 18 & 20 June 2018

Term 3:     10, 12, 17 & 19 September 2018

Term 4:      3, 5, 10 & 12 December 2018  

 

 First Aid

 

First Aid Workplace Level 2 (2 days) - 12 & 19 February

Assess and manage a range of life threatening situations using acceptable first aid practices until medical help arrives.  NZQA accredited - unit standards 6401, 6402 & 6400

Fee:  $145.00

Refresher:   $95.00

First Aid Workplace Level 1 (1 day) - 25 June

Acquire knowledge and a range of skills to respond to and manage a variety of emergency situations in a low risk work envirronment, e.g office.  NZQA accredited - unit standards 26551 & 26552

Fee:   $125.00

Refresher:   $95.00

 

Everyday NZ English

Improve your reading, writing and listening skills with a qualified ESOL tutor.  Focus is on everyday topics and situations.

Beginners / Elementary

Days:        Tuesday & Thursday, 9.30 - 11.30 am                             Fee: $125.00

Term 1:       13 February, 8 weeks, 16 sessions

Term 2:       8 May, 8 weeks, 16 sessions

Term 3:       7 August, 8 weeks, 16 sessions

Term 4:        16 October, 8 weeks, 16 sessions
