Former Henderson High guidance counsellor to run parenting seminar

By LEANNE WARR

Brian Burgess will soon be in town with his wife Sally on a well deserved annual vacation down under.

But the former Henderson high School guidance counsellor won't just be catching up with friends and family.

Mr Burgess, now based in the US plans to put on a parenting seminar on September 1 at 11 Woodruffe Ave from 8.45am to 3.30pm.

He and his wife have been living in Nashville since 1994 but still consider west Auckland home. They come back once a year but decided this time to do something a little different.

"Since we know so many people here it seemed sensible to offer Brian's expertise at home," Mrs Burgess.

Mr Burgess once ran a school to rehabilitate students who had been expelled. He was asked to set up a similar facility when he arrived in America.

Mrs Burgess says the seminar is for anyone who has responsibility for children or will have in the future.

Topics will include why children misbehave, family values and corrective approaches.Information and registration, Jodhi, phone: 838-1448.
