Environment Day a big hit at kaurilands

By Rani Timoti

Children at Kaurilands Primary School know more about the environment around them than most.

The kids spent a whole day looking at bugs and insects through microscopes, studing eels and crabs in their tanks, and learning more about nature and themselves earlier this month.

Staff say Environment Day, which included a fashion parade of recycleables, proved a big hit and may well become an annual event.

Using your head: Taimane Roberts, 7, shows how a piece of rubbish can be recycled into a fashionable hat.
Butterfly tagging: Emma Fowler, 6, makes a monarch butterfly.
