Dress up to be in the running for school trophy

 It's up for grabs again.

The Western Leader trophy will be awarded to the best dressed team at this year's Glen Eden Athletics and Harriers Club 2km fun run on July 28.

 Schools from around west Auckland are invited to take part and organisers are hoping for a good turnout.

The event is open to teams and runners of primary and intermediate age.

All will compete for prizes donated by the business community.

The Western Leader trophy was won last year by children at Summerland Primary.

"They really put in a huge effort, turning out in their sports uniforms, armed with balloons and wearing face paint," Western Leader editor Matthew Gray says.

"But last year's judging was harder than ever because there were plenty of other schools giving Summerland a run for its money.

The event starts at noon.
