Young performers at Whenuapai School will get their big break on Sky TV this month.

The pupils have been filmed by the children's channel Nickelodeon over the past few weeks preparing for the J Rock Stage Challenge - involving schools throughout Auckland.

Sixty four of them took part in the big event at the Aotea Centre on Tuesday.

Parts of their final eight minute routine will also feature in the programme, screening on June 25. Ten primary and intermediate schools were involved in the junior stage challenge.
