Hair today: TadhgEoghan Carraher is losing his locks for a good cause.
By Stephen Forbes
TadhgEoghan Carraher, 7, will have his head shaved today for the Child Cancer Foundation.
The Arahoe Primary School pupil was inspired to take part after watching his dad Colm do the same last year.
He's been sponsored by schoolmates and family and friends and has raised $215 so far.
TadhgEoghan has been growing his hair for the past year in preparation for the event.
His mum Mary will be sad to see it go.
"He's had long hair since he was little and I love it," she says.
But she says it's for a good cause.
The Funrazor event is being held at various sites countrywide.
TadhgEoghan will lose his locks with others at Aotea Square.
The foundation raised more than $300,000 last year and broke a Guinness World Record in 2006 for the most heads shaved in an hour.
