St Leonard's Rd School cookbook the best in the west

A new fundraiser  at at St Leonard's Rd School is guaranteed to tantalize the taste buds. 

The Best in the West cook book features more than 220 favourite recipes from students, staff and their  families. 

It also includes contributions from Waitakere Mayor Bob Harvey, author Alan Duff and actress Robyn Malcolm. 

Students at the school  illustrated the book and there are sections of school lunches, hangis and barbecues. 

The book is being sold for $7.50 though three copies can be bought for $20. 

"We've got superb community involvement.  We're grateful to a number of local businesses who also helped sponsor it," principal Darren Smith says.
