Waitakere College wins ad award

What does it take to make an award-winning advertisment? Just ask pupils at Waitakere College.

The Year 10 performing arts students entered their idea in television's Fair Go Ad Awards - and won.

All participants were told was to create an ad for a product 30 years in the future.

The Waitakere group shot eight hours of footage over two weekends promoting their Dream weaver pillow.

The edited down 30-second ad impressed the judges and got top marks.

It is the second time Waitakere College has entered the competition which has been going since 1998.

The school was among the top five contestants in 2004.The students won $1000 for the college as well as scholarships from Unitec worth $2000.
