New Lynn Primary student aims high

Aiming high: Tanmay Mohini, 10, is among the country's top students in a range of subjects.

All around achiever Tanmay Mohini is looking ahead to a bright future.

The year 6 New Lynn School student scored consistently well during this year's International Competitions and Assessments for Schools Exams.

He scored high distinction in spelling, English, writing, mathematics, and science - ranking among the country's top you scholars.

Tanmay is involved in the gifted and talented programme at his school and attends the George Parkyn Institute of gifted and talented one day a week.

"I have seen him develop from an academically focussed student to a successful all-round pupil," deputy principal Carol Becroft says.

"He has been involved in sports teams, has ventured into the arts successfully and has a great sense of humour."
