Artwest @ Kelston Girls

Surf theme: Tui Eves is among artists taking part in this year's Artwest event.

Work by some of west Auckland's best known artists will be sold during a fundraiser for the Kelston Girls College on October 13 and 14.

Artwest 07 will feature work by 100 contributors including Dean Buchanan, Michael Rowlands, Madeline Beasley and Jill Perrett.

It will include paintings, ceramics, photography, jewellery, weaving and fabric work.  

College assistant principal Trish Martin says `the event is a major fundraiser and an excellent opportunity to recognise and celebrate the thriving arts community in west Auckland.

"Avid art collectors and buyers will have a chance to own some of the best works west Auckland artists have to offer," she says.

Some of the proceeds will go towards the purchase of new instruments for the school's renovated music department.The display will be held in the school hall from 10am to 5pm.
