Mission On launch at Waitakere College

A new government campaign Mission On aims to promote better nutrition in schools.

So what better place to launch it than Waitakere College.

Officials chose the school after learning about the various healthy improvements made in its canteen.

Celebrities and MPs attended the launch of Mission On last week, enjoying a variety of demonstrations and entertainment from the students.

The hosts were television presenter Nathan Rarere and 2006 NZ Idol runner-up Indira Moala of Glen Eden.

Waitakere College principal Mark Shanahan says pupils are also encouraged to eat well and stay healthy through the school curriculum.
