Glendene kids keeping the city beautiful
Kids at the Glendene Primary School are getting right behind a campaign to beautify Waitakere City.
The students have been clearing rubbish from their school grounds as part of Operation Spring Clean.
The annual event is organised by the Keep Waitakere Beautiful Trust runs throughout September.
So far thousands of people including church, sport and cultural groups have registered and are using free rubbish bags and gloves to do their bit for the environment.
Last year more than 18 tonnes of litter and rubbish was collected.
