Children from Henderson South Primary School are making a permanent statement in their neighbourhood.
They have been planting trees and maintaining the banks of the nearby Opanuku Stream as part of a council backed restoration programme.
The school is one of many taking part in Project Twin Streams - a scheme that aims to rejuvenate waterways around the city.
It has marked its involvement by putting a new mural outside of its school hall.
Artists Mandy Patmore and Ebony Waru helped student artists with the work.
Mason Peteli, 11, is one of the pupils involved and is proud of the result."It's really beautiful," he says.
