WEST News and Updates

A New Addition to Our WEST Room Hire Facilities - The Tui Counselling Room

WEST have provided counselling room hire facilities to local counsellors for many years, offering a private space for counsellors to meet with clients, parking on site and a reception area during office hours. After discussions with counsellors using our facility at Gilmour House we have opened another counselling space. We now have available the Fantail Room and the Tui Room. If you know your New Zealand native birds the Fantail Counselling Room is the smaller of the two and perfect for one to one counselling sessions or meetings. The Tui Counselling Room is larger and can accommodate family and couple counselling, employment disciplinary meetings, mediation and negotiation meetings etc. Our regular hirers can manage their bookings through the WEST online booking system. If you are looking for a friendly, private space to hold your counselling sessions then please contact us on 098371471 or email admin@west.org.nz and we will see how we can help you. For more information about the rooms we have available please look at our WEST Facilities Hire tab on the left of this page or follow the link: http://www.west.org.nz/Site/WEST_Facilities_Hire_2.ashx

Housing Call to Action Network - Guide to Homelessness and Housing in West Auckland

WEST coordinated 'The Homelessness and Housing in West Auckland Hui' in Glen Eden where over 120 people from the housing sector and the community discussedwhat's working, what's not working and how we can work together to address the housing and homelessness issues in our community. As a group we compiled a list of services that support people who are homeless or have housing issues. The directory is currently being compiled and will be available on the Housing Call to Action webpage on the WEST website in early June 2018.

F Endorsement and OSH Operators Certificate Course

WEST, in partnership with Salvation Army Employment And Education ran a Forklift Certificate Course at the WEST campus on Henderson Valley Rd on Saturday 8th July. Forklift operators are required in sectors like manufacturing, distribution, freight, port companies, forestry and retail. Running a specialist course requires a great deal of planning and support from our partners. WEST would like to thank The Pallet Company in Glendene for donating the pallets we used during the course and Salvation Army Employment and Education in Henderson for partnering with WEST to enable us to deliver this course in Henderson. If you would like to know more about obtaining your F Endorsement and/or your OSH Operators Certificate please give us a call, or drop in and see us at 9 Henderson Valley Rd.
